ADHD, Attention & Dance Learning Workshop

€250.00Price

Many dancers with ADHD spend years believing they are lazy, distracted, incapable of focusing, or “bad at learning choreography.”

Yet often the issue is not intelligence or lack of effort.

It is a difference in how attention, motivation, sensory processing, working memory, emotional regulation and nervous system activation interact with learning.

In dance environments, this can appear as:

• forgetting combinations quickly
• zoning out during explanations
• struggling with counting or sequencing
• hyperfocusing on details while missing transitions
• feeling overwhelmed in busy classes
• inconsistency in performance
• difficulty learning under pressure
• intense self-criticism and frustration

This workshop explores ADHD and dance learning through the lens of neuroscience, psychology and embodied practice.

Rather than focusing on shame or “trying harder,” we explore how to work with the brain more effectively.

Inside the workshop we will explore:

🧠 ADHD and movement learning
🧠 attention regulation in dance
🧠 working memory and choreography retention
🧠 hyperfocus vs distraction
🧠 sensory overwhelm and performance environments
🧠 emotional regulation and nervous system responses
🧠 practical learning and rehearsal strategies
🧠 adapting dance training for neurodivergent brains

This is not only theoretical.

You will leave with practical tools, deeper understanding, and strategies that can immediately support learning, teaching and performance.

This workshop is suitable for:
• dancers
• dance teachers
• choreographers
• parents
• movement practitioners
• neurodivergent learners
• anyone curious about attention and learning in dance
